Before You Attend FAQs

Before You Attend FAQs

Q: What should I wear?
A: You can expect an environment of casual dress. You won't see many ties and suits on an average Sunday morning. If you're wearing one, you'll be in the minority. On an average Sunday you'll see everything from business casual to jeans in the winter and shorts in the summer. People dress comfortably at Cornerstone.

Q: When and where are your services?
A: We meet each Sunday at 10:00am at the Greenwood Community Center (Mapquest map, Yahoo map, Google map) and currently have one morning service.

Q: What do you offer my kids on Sunday mornings?
A: We have a great organization of volunteers that meet the needs of children from nursery through elementary age. Various age appropriate classes are offered during the morning worship service. At Cornerstone, your children are valuable to us and well cared for. They'll have fun while you enjoy the service.

Q: Do you have Sunday school for adults?
A: No. At Cornerstone we recognize people lead busy lives.  We believe that it is better for you to have time to spend with your family on the weekends. So we have chosen to build our adult ministry through Small Groups that meet during the week. They provide excellent opportunities for community, studying the Bible, and equipping you for life. Besides, we want you to beat the other churches to lunch.

Q: How early should I arrive?
A: We recommend arriving no earlier than 9:45. This should be plenty of time to get the kids situated, grab some coffee and snacks, meet a few people, and settle in for the worship service.

Q: Where do I go when I get there?
A: Parking is all you do. We have people eager to welcome you at the door. They'll make sure that you know where you're going and get you connected and comfortable here at Cornerstone.

Q: Is your church traditional or contemporary in music style?
A: Both. You can expect contemporary music and great hymns of the faith at Cornerstone. We believe Scripture provides stylistic freedom in this aspect of worship as long is at is done with excellence and in an orderly manner. We recognize this can be a controversial issue for some people and that sometimes people can confuse personal preference with sound theology. Having said that, Cornerstone is committed to solid, biblical lyrics and excellence in worship.

Q: What is the service like?
A: Our worship service begins with a time of singing followed by a solid biblical message.

Q: Will I be pressured to give financially during the service?
A: No, we provide an offering box at the back of the sanctuary where people give as they see fit.

Q: Am I going to be singled out as a visitor?
A: No, we want to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. We will, however, encourage you to fill out a communication card so we can follow-up on your visit. Completion of the card is optional.
